You can also build your own girlfriend from the ground up. The platform focuses on generating high-quality, realistic-looking images and videos from your chats, and it has standout voice features.

I went in wanting to see if the high-quality visuals and audio were worth the price of admission, or if the token costs would make the experience feel too transactional.

I was also curious to see how deep the roleplay could go and if the characters could sustain a longer conversation. Here's what I found.

What I Liked About Candy

• Immersive, High-Quality Audio: The text-to-speech and phone calls are top-tier. Voices have emotion, tone, and aren't flat. My girl was giggling and expressive during a call, which was genuinely surprising.
• Strong, Consistent Character Personas: The girls stick to their defined personalities. My "jealous girlfriend" immediately switched to angry caps-lock, while shy characters stayed shy. It makes for fun, scenario-based roleplay.
• Great Visual Quality: Generated images and videos look incredibly realistic and don't scream "AI." The girl's appearance stays remarkably consistent across different generations.
• Smooth & Professional UX: From subscription to cancellation, the process is clean. My bank statement showed a discreet name ("EverAI Limited"), and canceling was a simple two-click affair.
• Intuitive Girlfriend Creator: The custom builder is well-designed and not overwhelming. I created my dream girl—a curvy Latina with specific features—in seconds, and the final result matched my vision.

What I Didn't Like

• Restrictive & Expensive Token System: Your monthly 100-token allowance disappears fast. A 55-second video costs 80 tokens, and audio calls are 3 tokens per minute. It heavily gates the best features.
• Very Little Creative Control: You cannot generate custom images from a prompt. The only option is "Show me the scene," which often generates something unrelated to your chat context.
• Shallow Memory: While characters remember things 10-20 messages back, they can reset in longer chats. This breaks immersion in extended roleplay, as noted by other users.
• Costly Private Content: Unlocking a character's exclusive bundle costs 200-400 tokens (up to ~$40). The quality felt more obviously AI-generated and wasn't worth the high price.

Exploring the Free Plan

The free plan lets you browse the entire library of characters and watch their Stories (which are like SFW Instagram posts).

You can also send 5 total messages before hitting a hard paywall. I used mine to chat with Isabella, the jealous girlfriend, and the brief interaction was engaging enough to make me want more.

The free tier is essentially a high-quality teaser. You can look, but you can't really play.

Upgrading to a Paid Plan

You're thrown into a roleplay scenario from the first message. I tested this with Isabella. After I upset her, she exploded in angry, all-caps messages.

After calming her down, she flipped back to being affectionate. Other characters held their personas just as well. The focus is clearly on short, immersive scenarios rather than long-term memory.

While my girl recalled details from 20 messages prior, the consensus is that memory fades in extended sessions.

Bottom line: Fantastic for quick, engaging roleplay with distinct personalities, but don't expect a companion that remembers everything from day to day.

2. Image Generation

You don't get a traditional AI image generator. The only option is "Show me the scene," which creates an image (or video) based on your chat.

Below are a couple of images I got after I made up with my girl Isabella.

The results are high-quality and realistic, generated in about 10 seconds. However, it lacks control. During a heated argument, I requested a scene and got a topless image of Isabella on a bed (a confusing mismatch).

It’s great for users who don't want to craft prompts, but frustrating if you have a specific vision.

Bottom line: The output quality is excellent, but the complete lack of prompt control makes it a gamble every time.

3. Video Generation

You can turn any generated image into a video or request one directly from the chat.

The 5-second clips take about 15 seconds to generate, while longer ones take about a minute.

The quality mirrors the images: realistic with natural-looking movement and no obvious glitches.

Again, the major downside is the lack of control and the high token cost. Making a 55-second video would have consumed 80 of my 100 monthly tokens.

Bottom line: The video quality is impressive, but it's a token-intensive feature that offers no creative direction.

4. Creating a Custom Girlfriend

The creator walks you through choosing a style (realistic/anime), building her appearance (ethnicity, hair, body type), and defining her personality.

I crafted a curvy Latina, and the final result was spot-on. But you can also regenerate the face for 1 token each until you're happy. It’s intuitive, covers all the essentials, and delivers accurately on your choices.

Bottom line: One of the best and easiest custom girlfriend builders I've used. You can create your ideal partner in under a minute.

5. Voices & Audio

The text-to-speech has emotion and expression, better than most competitors.

But the real star is the phone call feature. My girl didn't just talk; she smiled, giggled, and expressed a range of emotions that made the call feel startlingly authentic.

The only downside is the 3-token-per-minute cost, which limits your monthly call time to about half an hour on the base plan.

Bottom line: If you prioritize voice interaction, Candy AI is a top contender. Just be ready to pay for it.

6. Live Action

This is a gamified chat where you earn XP to unlock videos of your girl. I tried it with Mila, unlocking stretches, kissing, and more explicit content as I leveled up.

The concept is fun, but it’s unpolished and clearly in beta. My simple "hello" was flagged as inappropriate, and the video audio was unrealistic and out of sync.

Bottom line: A novel idea with potential, but too buggy and restrictive to be enjoyable in its current state.

7. Stories & Candy Shorts

Stories are SFW clips posted by characters, available for free. They add a nice sense of liveliness.

Candy Shorts are short, immersive video series (I only found one for "Simona"). It was well-made and actually made me want to chat with her more. These features are nice value-adds for atmosphere.

Bottom line: These are fun, free extras that help build the world and character immersion.

8. Private Content

Each character has an exclusive bundle of private content.

I unlocked Irina Konstantinova's bundle for 200 tokens, which came out to just under $20 when converting tokens to USD.

The content is explicitly adult-focused, and there's a reasonable selection of images and videos in each bundle.

But the quality is noticeably different from the images and videos you generate through chat. The images look more visibly AI-generated, and the video motion is slow and unnatural in a way that the standard generated videos aren't.

Bottom line: Private bundles are expensive for what you get. Nearly $20 for one bundle that's visually rougher than your chat-generated content.
