What I Didn't Like

• Aggressive Paywall: After creating my account, I tried chatting with a character. They locked me out after just 3 messages, which is far more restrictive than other apps.
• Tricky Subscription Cancellation: To cancel, you have to dig through settings, type your password, and confirm via email. It feels intentional to avoid cancellations.

Exploring the Free Plan

The free plan lets you do a lot of browsing, but very little chatting. You can create an account, explore the full character library with its powerful filters, and see every character's public images. You can also create one custom character and generate 3 images per day.

I tried to chat a bit, and the paywall hits immediately.

I was blocked after sending just three messages to a character. This lets you sample the interface but doesn't give you a real feel for chat quality. The 3 free daily image generations, however, are a genuinely useful and generous feature.

Generating an image of my character took around 30 seconds, which felt a bit slow.

The results were really good. They had this candid, iPhone photo quality that looked convincingly real.

2. Video Generation

This feature lets you turn a generated image into a 5-second video clip. You pick a base image, select an action, and add a prompt.

My first attempt, without setting an action, produced a broken video with weird morphing.

My second attempt, when I set the action to cowgirl, was a bit better, but still had odd movements, and the girl changed facial features.

And my third try completely ignored the action I set.

Each video costs 20 tokens and takes about 5 minutes to generate. With the Essential Plan's 100 monthly tokens, you can only make five.

Bottom line: Video generation is expensive, slow, and the quality is bad. I recommend avoiding this feature.

3. Creating Custom AI Girlfriend

The creator offers many options: style (realistic, anime, etc.), ethnicity, hair, eyes, body type, and more. It's not overwhelming, making it easy to build a girlfriend.

However, when I tried to create a Japanese character with specific traits, the result didn't look Japanese at all.

I also noticed that multiple created characters shared similar facial features and poses.

Bottom line: The tool is easy to use and has enough options, but it doesn't perfectly nail specific requests and can produce lookalike characters.

4. Chatting

Before starting, I customized my chat by setting the response length to "short" and turning off automated image generation. I suggest doing the same, as each auto-image costs 2 tokens.
