The group chat feature, allowing up to 10 characters in one scenario, is a creative standout for crafting complex stories.

Similarly, the lorebook tool lets you build entire worlds with lore and rules. It's a text-heavy, creator-centric environment.

The chat also keeps track of your memories, which AI recalls later, so you're not just limited to in-context memory.

Bottom line: This is a top-tier feature for text-based roleplay. It offers incredible depth and freedom, especially for users who enjoy writing and world-building.

Image Generation

Here's how this works: you request a picture mid-conversation, and the AI tries to match the scene.

Control is minimal: you can only switch between four models and toggle NSFW mode on or off.

With NSFW off, the realistic images were decent in quality but lacked consistency. The same character looked different in every picture.

Turning NSFW on killed the quality entirely, producing unrealistic, anime-looking images with distorted anatomy.

I also tried the anime model, which was noticeably better and more consistent.

Bottom line: If you want precise, high-quality, or consistent realistic images, look elsewhere. It’s serviceable for anime-style visuals, but don't expect fine-tuned control.

Voices

Available only on the top-tier plan, this feature includes a selection of pre-made voices and a custom voice clone tool.

The default voices are underwhelming: they avoid the worst robotic tone but sound flat.

The custom voice creator, however, worked surprisingly well. I uploaded a 5-second audio clip of a Japanese woman speaking, and in about 15 seconds, it generated a convincing clone that sounded very similar.

Bottom line: The stock voices aren't a selling point. The custom voice tool is effective if you have a specific voice sample, but it's a niche benefit locked behind the most expensive plan.

For text roleplay alone, it's easy to recommend. However, its paid features, particularly image generation, don't justify their cost with their current quality and lack of control.

Try Spicychat for free. If you love the chat and deeply want the custom voice feature, then consider the premium plan.

But if you're chasing perfect AI visuals or flawless storytelling, you'll likely be disappointed.
